Åre Winter Camp 2007

Last Saturday night, 4 of the exhangers took the train from Eskilstuna, to go to Åre, the biggest ski resort in Sweden! We met up with others in Stockholm and then continued on with the night train up North to Åre. TAhe next morning, everyone arrived at the train station in Åre and headed back to the hotel. It was the first time most of us had met as a lot of the peopdle are from different districts in Sweden. It doesn't take long for exchange students to meet everyone though - when we're in large groups, we're... very social i suppose you could say!

We went skiing everyday that we were in Åre. The weather was beautiful and runs awesome. We had ski school for 2 mornings. My class had 4 students and 6 instructors1 I actually learned a lot. We spent the whoel time working on off-pist skiing, and on jumps.

AFter a long day of skiing, we would go back to the hotel to take a sauna, hot tub, steambath, or a swim. one night, rotary took us to see a waterfall, and igloo, both of which were cool.

The first night, we went toboganning in the dark with garbage bags! Maybe not the best idea, but it worked surprisingly well, althoguh I think that the people at the hotel thought we were a bit different... : )!

Thursday afternoon, we jumped on the train home. It was really hard to leave as we had just made new friends and many fof them won't be on euro tour which is the next big group event and our time to say goodbye. The ski trip, marked the end of our exchanges. It's time to start the countdown to coming home. I think that most of us can say that we can't even imagine not being here, with eachother, in this new life that we've made over the past 8 months. We're now getting to the hard part.
